ARTIST OF THE WEEK: TOM EVANCHUCK
Each week here at High Road, we choose one band or artist that we’re not working with, but we think you should check out anyway! Please welcome Tom Evanchuck, an incredible folk artist from Ohio. The harmonica-laden single “Strange” tells a charming story of receiving unsolicited advice from a wise old-timer. Hear it now in the number one spot of our “Flannels & PBR” playlist!
Tom Evanchuck has been playing music since a child. Presently, whether it’s him on an acoustic or with his band The Old Money, he turns heads. He belts like a midwestern Otis Redding and croons on guitar like a hybrid Neil Young Leadbelly student. That is the the charm in Tom Evanchuck, he is truly talented and never forgets to cite his sources. Pays credit to the greats while respectfully finding his own voice in the broad and vast American music sound. Now with The Old Money, his voice cuts through a blend of blues, soul and americana rock created by his unique guitar style, Patrick Jenkins’ tasteful baselines and Anthony Evanchuck’s heartbeat drumming.
