SOLO ARTIST PURPLEHEARTS RELEASES HEAVY-HITTING “NO WAY OUT”

California-native, Missouri-transplant, purplehearts (AKA Mario Mitchell) have released the glitched-out, heavy-hitting single/video “No Way Out.” “No Way Out” is pulled from purplehearts’ forthcoming full-length, which is set to release later this year in October, and marks his first single of 2022.

Set against guitar-driven cuts and electrifying synths, “No Way Out” offers a narrative of navigating the “system” while also acting as a defiant anthem on working that same system to benefit you as an individual as best as possible. Through lyrics such as, “There’s no way out/So don’t fall down/It never gets easier/When you hit the ground,” purplehearts personalizes and personifies these persistent struggles.

My inspiration for this song was that there’s no way out of this system no matter what we do, and everything we know is kinda bullshit,” purplehearts shares. “The verses allude to how I just stay to myself in my own little world because I am in this whole ‘system’ as much as anyone else, but I’m navigating around it to benefit myself as much as possible.”

Composed against a dark, stone wall with magenta and lavender neon lights filling the space, the “No Way Out” is kept simple with purplehearts singing against a band and DJ booth, allowing the true essence of the track to not feel lost in the narrative.

The video for “No Way Out” was filmed and edited by Lindan Caldwell Media, while the track was written by purplehearts and Kevin W. Gates at Reach Audio, produced by Kevin W. Gates at Reach Audio, and mastered by Troy Glessner at Spectre Studios.
