Metalcore Act COMMON CHOIR Preach The Sins Of “Idle Hands”

Minneapolis metalcore act Common Choir has just dropped their latest single “Idle Hands.” The track, produced by Nick Pocock, opens with a peaceful instrumental intro over washed-out screams, lulling the listener into a false sense of security before dropping you hard into a riff heavy banger. Guttural vocals blend with a soaring chorus, and brutal breakdowns pair with a guitar solos, all showcasing Common Choir’s well-honed writing and performing chops.

Lyrically, the song is all about the ills of staying stagnant. ““Idle Hands” is about cause and effect, action vs inaction, and how often times doing nothing is the worst thing we can do for our own lives,” explains the band. “Accepting this and our own ability to try and fail is one of the most important parts of growing and becoming better people. This song looks at that from the perspective of a person who learned that lesson the hard way.
