Dayseeker’s Rory Rodriguez joins Execution Day for New Single “Consumed”
After recently being named a band you have to hear by Kerrang! Radio host Sophie K, Pennsylvania metalcore/hard rock quartet Execution Day have returned with a brand new single called “Cosumed.” This time around, the band enlisted the vocal services of Dayseeker frontman Rory Rodriguez, who makes his appearance on the song’s bridge.
” The entire time we were writing this track, we knew it had a vibe that would fit Rory’s voice perfectly,” says vocalist Dylan Dively. “We met him at a show we opened years ago and we’ve kept in touch since, and when we sent him the track, he obviously had the same vision for the song as we did. He knocked his part out of the park.“
Modern and anthemic, “Consumed” holds onto the band’s metalcore roots while continuing their push into the world of mainstream rock in away that will soon make them unavoidable. Written about going through a point in your life where you are no longer happy with who you see in the mirror, the track and video are like a real life combat between your demons.
“It’s really about personal growth,” says Dively. “and realizing that you have basically hit rock bottom, and the only place to go from there, is up. To get better, and make the changes necessary to get better.“
Formed outside of Pittsburgh in 2015, Execution Day brings something different and unique to the metalcore/alternative world. Execution Day has always wanted to write music that was unique to them, and had a sound all their own. Consisting of members Alec Coslow, Dylan Dively, John Halstead and Chad Sutliff, the band takes influences from many genres and makes music that is completely their own.
