WHAT MUSIC DISTRIBUTION COMPANY SHOULD YOU USE FOR YOUR NEXT RELEASE?

With Spotify’s recent announcement of shutting down their direct upload feature, you might find yourself asking “How the hell do I get my music on Spotify so I can start making hundreds of pennies?!” The answer is, you’ll need to pick a distributor, but how do you know which one is best?

There’s a few really great ones that have a bit of a approval process and require contracts, but the three entry-level options that Spotify recommends are DistroKid, CDBaby, and EmuBands. These are their preferred distributors and they offer instant access to ‘Spotify for Artists’ for all of their users (that shit you need to get on dope playlists).

I can also say that my friend of mine runs iMusician and they offer some great rates for artists as well as assistance in playlisting. This is not an advertisement for them, so don’t report me, dicks.

Which distributors have you used and what have been your experiences?
