Keeper Releases Dark & Gritty Music Video for Emo Rap Track “Blue Eyes”

Following the release of his debut single “Homegrown,” UK artist Emanuel Andrade, who goes by the stage name Keeper, is back with his sophomore single “Blue Eyes.”

The track is accompanied by an avant-garde music video that could easily be mistaken for an entry in an indie film festival.

This song has to be one of my favourites of the EP,” says Andrade. “I tried developing my writing style with this one, focus on metaphors and ways of distorting lyrics to make it ambiguous. The song, from my point of view, is a back and forth between the voices on your shoulder, arguing with the bad in hopes of reaching the “good.” Trying to fight off the dark and negative basically. Something, which given the current issues, I think is extremely prevalent. It’s quite literally telling the despair to ‘Fk off” .

Guess I’m Keeper drops on 3/19 and will be the debut album from Keeper, who also plays guitar in the London based Pop-Punk band Jack The Envious. Though the album is a solo EP, it gave Keeper the opportunity to collaborate with various friends in the music industry, which is exactly where Keeper feel’s the most comfortable.

Music is a creative outlet that lets me express myself and create and tell stories verbally because my English skills are awful,” explains Keeper. “My mother learnt how to make bread, I learnt how to make stories about characters and put them to music.
