Metalcore Band Glass Hands Encourage LGBTQ+ Acceptance on New Single “Bouquet”
Last month was Pride Month, but as many in the community see their identities exploited for corporate gain for one month out of the year, Glass Hands are here to remind you to be proud all year long. The Indianapolis metalcore/post-hardcore quintet has released their new single “Bouquet,” a track about encouraging LGBTQ+ visibility/acceptance.
Written about his own personal struggle with uncovering his orientation, vocalist Adam Anderson penned the lyrics after coming out as bisexual last year to celebrate his pride.
“As a kid, I was heavily exposed to different sides of the same-sex marriage debate,” says Anderson. “I valued a lot of people’s opinions about me and their stance on gay marriage. Being an introverted young boy who was attracted to men and women, these opinions triggered a lot of cognitive dissonance and internalized oppression for me. I hope this song can help anyone who feels isolated in any group or context! You are visible, and others can’t define you; only you can!“
“Bouquet” is a beautifully arranged track that has as much melody as it does bite. Dissonant guitars, soulful vocals and a driving beat keeps this song moving along.
Glass Hands is based out of Indianapolis, IN, but has been touring regularly in and out of the Midwest since inception. They’ve played shows in almost every state in the Midwest and northeast, as well as a gig in Texas during SXSW 2017.
You can expect diversity and an influence from multiple genres in their music, which has kept their loyal listeners interested throughout the past 3 years.
