Texas-based metal juggernaut The Crowned has unleashed their crushing new single Set You Free featuring Eddie Hermida (Suicide Silence, All Shall Perish). Known for their brutal intensity and dynamic sound reminiscent of Slipknot and Born of Osiris, the band pairs the track with a cinematic music video inspired by the iconic underground boxing scene from Snatch (2000), delivering a visceral blend of raw aggression and visual storytelling.
“For the hardcore movie buffs out there, the idea of this music video was a re-creation of the boxing match from the movie, “Snatch” from the 2000’s. The fight scene where “Mickey” played by Brad Pitt was to take a fall in the ring for a fixed fight. You see the boxer fall through the ring as to be submerged under water to simulate losing the match and staying unconscious. Eventually, Mickey rises up and win’s the fight leading to a lot of angry gamblers who bet money on the rigged fight. You’ll see some subtle moments in the video like the intro to each person in the video and the infamous underwater scene in the music video. It was a lot of fun re-creating and capturing the fight to match the motions of the music.” – Marc Coronado (Lead Vocals/Drums)
