“The Faceless was written about a year ago as a small idea that eventually took a few twists and turns to end up as what it is today. Originally it was just a short and sweet spooky sounding ska song. I had written lyrics for it multiple times and I even posted this song on Tiktok to see if anyone else had any ideas lyrically for it, but nothing came of it until i decided to write lyrics about a fictional nameless (faceless) government agency that was chasing after the listener/protagonist, which is where the first verse and chorus came from. After sitting on those lyrics for a while i came up with the lyrics for the rest of the song and it morphed into more of a thriller/horror vibe for the song. The song came together perfectly as everyone in the band did their part to create some of the best rhythm, and melodies we’ve ever created together. As for the organ, I asked Jess Debellis of Skapossitory to help us out with it, and he completely crushed it. When i approached Jess to do the organ part i had given him the song “Policeman” by The Silencers as inspiration for the sound i wanted, and he went above and beyond with it. Skip to a few weeks later Brandon Lewis, of Punkerton Records, and I are spit balling ideas for a vocal feature on the track and he threw out the idea of asking Vic Ruggiero of The Slackers, who is the one who originally wrote the song “Policeman” that inspired the organ track. Vic had a small window to record vocals between playing all over the country, but once he got his track to us we got this song mixed and mastered and were so damn excited to put it out. Having Vic on this track is truly such an honor, and we cant thank him enough for his contribution to this track as well as just ska/rocksteady music in general. To accompany this awesome track were also releasing a music video on 10/20, the following Friday after the song is released. The video was shot by, new honorary dizzy crew member, Jimmy Busch of Hallowed House Media and will be featured on Blank TV. It follows some of the band as they stay at an Air BnB that is supposedly haunted. It doesn’t take long for them to realize the “HAUNTED” warning on the website was not just a silly Halloween joke. Throughout the video, watch as each member is met face to face with the children of the evil demonic homeowner who is played by “Tati La Rue”, and find out if they can escape from “The Faceless” before their demise, in this fun classic spooky thriller style music video.” -Dan
