Crystal Joilena and Tommey Roulette (Jynx) Team up for “Holy Misery”
Multi-genre artist Crystal Joilena has returned with a new single called “Holy Misery,” featuring Tommy Roulette of the band Jynx (who are signed to Fever 333’s label 333 Wreckords). The dark, eclectic track was also co-written by Joakim Jolly Karlsson from band Bad Omens, accompanied by a chaotic music video that sees Roulette and Joilena trading vocal blows.
“The single is about being afraid to open yourself up to love and keeping your heart guarded,” says Joilena. “Afraid to show the person your inner fears and hurt, stemming from past trauma.“
“Holy Misery” follows-up Joilena’s last single, the driving “I’ll Never Let Us Die.“
Joilena’s first taste of virality came after a cover of “Until The World Goes Cold” by Trivium was shared by Matt Heafy. She then went on to collab with Motionless in White on the track “Eternally Yours” from their “Motion Picture Collection” EP.
With the use of fantasy elements, Crystal Joilena brings forth a sound that transcends genres. As a solo artist, Crystal has an incredible knack for creating music that’s as gripping as it is hauntingly beautiful. Like ripping pages from her personal diary, her music delivers pieces of her soul, revealing her most vulnerable moments told through lyricality and dreamscapes.
Influenced by the likes of Sarah Brightman, Garbage, Depeche Mode, The Weeknd, and others, Crystal takes pieces of what inspires her and turns it on its head to create something intricate and distinctly hers. Crystal continues to break boundaries, genres, and her momentum is only growing stronger.
